They say kids tell the truth and don't worry about hurting your feelings. Ryan has definitely proved that to be true. In the past few weeks, a few of the lovely things he has said to me...
- Mama, I liked you better when you were younger
- Wow, that lady has good stomach muscles. Why don't you?
- You're not a cool girl, you're just a mom

Tooth Burglar
Nathan lost another tooth last night. I usually handle tooth fairy duty but I was already in bed when I realized I forgot so I asked Will to go get the tooth and put the $2 under his pillow. Simple request, yes?? Nathan wakes up today. So upset because his tooth is gone but no money!! I text Will, he insists he put the money under. Nathan thinks the tooth fairy stole his tooth. I think Nathan stole the money. Come to find out, the $2 is still in Wills pocket, along with the tooth. So Will stole the tooth!!

Morgan's first word
Morgan achieved some major milestones this week. She started waving and she said her first word!
She spends nearly every second of her life with me but did she say Mama? Of course not. Third kid in a row, first word is.... Dada

Thanks to our brave parents who watched the kids, Will and I were able to sneak away to Puerto Rico for a kid-free long wknd. 4 days to ourselves!!! We slept late. We laid by the pool. We ate dinner after dark! At restaurants that didn't have a kids menu! And just enjoyed some time being Karen and Will instead of Mommy and Daddy.

Omg. What a morning!!! So we got to school early today so I brought Morgan and Ryan to the big family bathroom so I could nurse the baby. Ryan decides he has to poop. So he's doing his business and all of the sudden the automatic toilet flushes and scares the crap out of him. Literally!! He jumped off the toilet so fast with a giant poop hanging out of his butt!!! I've got Morgan attached to my boob so I jump up and grab him so he doesn't fall. The poop falls down and lands on the floor which I now have to pick up and get back into the toilet. And then convince him to go back on and finish his business. Lovely. We finally get all cleaned up and situated and head to his classroom and over the loudspeaker comes on an announcement that there's an emergency in the infant room. So scary. People are running in from everywhere. People from the pool in bathing suits, people all sweaty from the gym. Basically anyone wth medical experience I guess. So chaotic and scary. Everyone's ok. Turns out it wasn't a kid, one of the teachers was having trouble breathing but she's fine. Ryan in his class. Morgan in the playroom. I'm in the gym. Everyone ok. It's 9:08 and I'm ready for a drink!!!

Chinese New Year
This year we celebrated Chinese New Year in Brooklyn at Richard and Marilyn's home. Susanna was home from college and the boys had so much fun hanging out with her and Sophie. Our family now consists of two snakes, a goat, a tiger and a monkey.

Quality time
It's very rare for me to have any one on one time with Nathan. There's usually a little brother or a baby sister hogging most of my attention. So when I get the chance to hang out with him solo, I make the most of it. I had the opportunity to pick him up from school yesterday without Morgan and Ryan in tow so rather than go home, I drove us to our favorite coffee shop where we ordered cupcakes , grabbed a window seat and sat and talked about all the cars driving by. His favorite thing to do is talk about cars! And talking about his favorite things is my favorite thing!

Happy New Year!
We spent New Years Eve at our neighbor's house where the kids got to countdown and celebrate at 10:00. Then we headed home, tucked them into bed and Annual New Years Day brunch. Next year we'll bring sunglasses for the kiddos!
